The Lexicon Lounge is a vibrant inclusive spoken word night that champions poetic voices of all backgrounds styles and stages of experience. Curated by Open Page Productions the event welcomes anyone who loves language - whether you're a seasoned performer emerging talent or an enthusiastic listener. Taking place regularly in London venues The Lexicon Lounge is a home for those who find power in words and community in creative expression. Each event explores a new theme inviting poets to respond with their own take - be it raw lyrical political humorous or heartfelt. It’s for artists and audiences alike who want to connect reflect and celebrate live performance.

Each Lexicon Lounge features a mix of five-minute open mic sets and curated Headliner acts - poets who’ve established themselves on the spoken word scene or who have something unique to say. There are also live music and open mic slots. What sets The Lexicon Lounge apart is its fast-paced format themed nights (like Chaos Evolution Borders) and its commitment to access warmth and variety. Expect everything from punchy political pieces to intimate confessions plus occasional music and collaboration between artists. It’s a joyful genre-blending experience designed to keep audiences engaged from start to finish.

Agenda / Itinerary / Timeline

Doors open at 7:00 PM for audience and performers to settle in connect and sign up for open mic slots. The show begins at 7:30 PM with a short welcome from the host Phoebe Constantine followed by a run of performers (including music) a spoken word headliner and an open mic slot. After a short break the evening concludes with another featured Headliner set performers and ends with a music slot. The event usually wraps up by 9:30 PM leaving time for mingling networking and celebrating community.

Rules / FAQs / T&Cs / Refund policy

Open mic slots are first come first served - sign-up on arrival. Each performer gets a maximum of 5 minutes. Please be respectful of time limits and of other performers. This is a supportive and inclusive space: any discriminatory or abusive content or behaviour will not be tolerated. Tickets are non-refundable except in the case of event cancellation.
