Salin

Thai-born, Canada-based drummer, producer and composer Salin explores the enchanting sounds of Northeast Thailand and marries it with the 70s psychedelia of West Africa, all through the lens of modern soulful production.

Her groundbreaking new album "Rammana" merges afro-jazz, funk and indigenous Thai instruments - for which we coined this genre, "Afro Isaan Soul." This unique blend highlights shared global music traditions and is a reminder that music is a universal language, transcending borders and uniting us all in a shared experience of joy and creativity. As the only female drummer, producer, and composer promoting this genre, Salin stands out as an innovative voice, and a pioneer in the jazz world.

Through her music, Salin ponders themes of identity, spirituality, and humanity (all paired with a dose of fun) to create a unique sonic journey for listeners.
