Mapping In-Betweenness

Living in the modern world means living in constant motion. From the moment we wake up, we are surrounded by stimulation. - messages, notifications, conversations, visual noise, and the endless scroll of digital content. Even when we step away from work or social life, our minds often remain active, racing to process the overload of images, sounds, and information that fill our days. The world never seems to slow down, and neither do we.

This workshop invites participants to pause and breathe amid the noise. Together, we’ll explore how different layers of stimulation (visual, digital, emotional, and environmental) shape our daily experiences. Many of these influences have become so normalised that we barely notice their impact. This workshop offers a space to slow down and bring gentle awareness to them.

Through a series of spatial explorations, sensory reflections, and creative exercises, participants will learn to reflect how external and internal stimuli affect their state of mind and body. We will experiment with simple ways to create the moments of openness and calm that can be woven into everyday life.

No prior experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to pause.

Hannah Ieong is a Macao- and London-based multidisciplinary creative exploring the subtleties of human experience. Her work focuses on carving out moments of reflection within our increasingly busy, fast-paced, and overstimulated lives, offering gentle spaces to pause, reconnect, and restore balance.

Flowing through: a workshop festival

This two day workshop festival at Two Temple Place is your chance to experiment, play, and discover new possibilities. Led by UAL students and staff these workshops will guide you through hands-on creative activities.

All the workshops respond to themes related to vulnerability, resilience, identity, and emotional well-being. Themes that form part of The Weight of Being exhibition taking place at Two Temple Place in January 2026.
