Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this introductory workshop is open to all!

Join David Davila and the London student group, as we guide you through the essential principles and techniques of Leung Sheung Wing Chun in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

This is a unique opportunity to take a break from our hectic London lives and deep dive into the world of Wing Chun. Through solo and partner exercises, this practice helps develop better awareness, body structure, and movement efficiency.

/// Who is David Davila? ///

We practice the Wing Chun of Yip Man (葉問) as taught by Leung Sheung (梁相) to Kenneth Chung (鐘萬年), and in turn to David Davila.

Leung Sheung was the senior-most student of Yip Man in Hong Kong. Leung Sheung was widely acknowledged for his superior skill and practical application.

Kenneth Chung began his Wing Chun studies in Hong Kong in 1965 and is considered Leung Sheung's most outstanding student. Ken was a pioneer of Wing Chun in the United States and is well known for his 'soft force'. His teaching emphasizes a relaxed yet rooted structure, precise position and acute sensitivity.

David is Ken's direct student and founded the Shanghai Leung Sheung Wing Chun Student Association ( http://www.shanghai-wingchun.com/). He is regularly invited to run seminars in the US, Europe, and Asia.

Popularised in recent years with the popular movie franchise "Ip Man" or Wong Kar Wai's "The Grandmaster", Wing Chun (詠春拳) is a traditional Chinese martial art from southern China designed to use simple, direct movements to overcome larger, stronger opponents.

Utilising the laws of physics, we do not rely on pure speed and brute strength, but rather develop our position, sensitivity and timing. We believe in building a strong foundation in practice and precision in execution. Proper training develops calm confidence and a healthy mind and body. We place a strong emphasis on accurate position, structure and relaxation to generate the proper energy for application.
