Local Lore with Patrick Mitchell

Join Patrick Mitchell for a three part series exploring local legends and tall tales. Each session will feature an in depth dive into a different mysterious story. If you love a good mystery, this program is for you.



“Water and Women’s Rights”



This presentation will focus on the unique attention that was given to women’s rights in the Fingerlakes area, with a large focus on Rachel Gleason who was one of the first female doctors in America and operated one of the early Water Cure facilities in America in Elmira, NY where she attended to many of the prominent figures in the women’s rights movement.
