Are you interested in Classical Dressage? Like the REAL classical- all about lightness, prioritizing the horses welfare, developing the horse & rider methodically, learning actual skills that you can feel confident applying on your own instead of needing an instructor yelling in your ear...??? First of all, I am super excited to be partnering with Del Dios Way Farm in Culpeper to be offering trailer in dressage & western dressage lessons in their indoor arena!
Now let me introduce myself! I have been involved with the Ecole de Legerete (Phillipe Karls' French riding school) since 2017. I was 2/3rds of the way to my instructors license before covid derailed our trainers program. While I have been impatiently waiting to continue the *official* program, I have been grateful to have the opportunity to take lessons from Philippe Karls working students when she comes to the US for clinics, as well as a virtual course with an EDL master instructor.
Before that I was teaching, training, showing & coaching in Western Dressage and completed the first ever WDAA Train the Trainers event in 2012. And even before that I had interned with a well known Doma Vaquera trainer in CA, and been the long standing sidekick of an equine craniosacral therapist.
Whatever you are dealing with in regards to your horse and whatever your end goals are I guarantee classical dressage can help! Under this method horses become responsive, calm, confident, supple, better balanced, they also develop healthier movement patterns & muscles. Likewise, riders learn to communicate effectively & how to help bring out the best in their horse!
We are aiming for a lesson day at Del Dios Way Farm about once a month. We have October 18th & November 15th on the schedule now. Lessons are $75 which includes the trailer in fee for the indoor arena. If you would like to join us for either day, please take a moment to sign up here:

I'll leave you with this quote-
"Being trained by a true classicist can be both a blessing & a curse. The beauty of such training, especially if one has both feeling & a keen eye, is that one has been exposed to the highest standards of the art, which are simply considered routine in such a venue.
The difficulty is also that one has been exposed to the highest standards, etc.- which means that one is not easily impressed, and can become a bit disillusioned when lower standards become touted as the norm. "
