Christopher Mark Jones Trio wsg Mike Gentry

Happy to be returning to the Trinity House Theater w/ lots of new songs. I'll be joined by Dave Gillespie on guitar and vocals and Greg Winters on bass and vocals, recreating a trio that appeared frequently in Michigan pre-pandemic. A brief intro to my work for newbies: "Listeners hear echoes of 'Greg Brown's pacing and a Lyle Lovett attitude' (Ben Shannon), as well as of John Prine and Bruce Coburn. Looking for the Light (2021) is his sixth recording of original folk/roots songs, while Montréal Encore (2022) is a French-language recording created in collaboration with the Quebec poet Bernard Pozier."

Michigander Mike Gentry will open the proceedings. An introduction: "Mike Gentry’s storytelling runs deep, weaving Americana, folk, and rock into songs that feel both personal and universal. A fixture of the Michigan music scene, Gentry’s performances are known for their authenticity, wit, and warmth."
