Getting Started in Amateur Astronomy

Connection with other people, getting outside, learning new skills, and expanding your knowledge are great for your mental health—and excellent antidotes to feeling isolated and spending time in echo chambers of doom-scrolling.

Come hear Anthony Krishock, President of the Syracuse Astronomical Society, talk about how to get started in the hobby of astronomy, including places to stargaze, organizations to get involved in, and what equipment is good for beginners.

Come find us in the Sargent Room at the Liverpool Public Library. As usual at our meetings, we’ll have friendly folks and light refreshment. This event is free to the public, and all are welcome!
