Essential Figure Show
The Livermore Art Association and the City of Livermore are pleased to announce the 17th annual Essential Figure Art exhibition, which will be held at the Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore. This free and public exhibition will showcase the works of local artists, with the human figure as the central theme.
Barbara Stanton and Christine Thompson, both accomplished figure artists, lead a weekly figure drawing workshop at the Bothwell Arts Center. The workshop culminates in an annual figure show, which Christine curates with her exceptional eye for detail. This year’s show, titled “Celebrating the Human Form in All its Glory,” will be judged by renowned artist John Iacono and will feature a diverse range of media, including painting, sculpture, and photography. The exhibition will provide an opportunity for artists to demonstrate their skills and techniques through various mediums.
This year there will be a special Memorial Exhibit of figurative works by Carolyn Ramsey who spent many Fridays drawing and painting with the Bothwell Figure Drawing group.
Visitors will have the chance to cast their votes for their favorite piece in the “People’s Choice” award. The exhibition will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM from March 20th to 22nd.
On March 21st, the public is cordially invited to attend the reception and awards presentation at the Bothwell Arts Center. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to view the exhibition, purchase affordable art, and engage with the participating artists.
Are you an artist who would like to be in this show? There is still time! The receiving will be on March 14th, between 1:00-4:00 at the Bothwell Arts Center.
Prospectus will be available on the LAA website soon.
