2023 "Against The Grain" Bourbon Barrel-Aged Wine Release and Cheese Pairing Party

The wait is over! Get ready for the release of the 2023 "Against The Grain" Bourbon-Barrel Aged Red Blend. This year's Against The Grain Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Blend is 75% Petit Verdot and 25% Merlot. Guests will get to savor this complex and exciting fan-favorite, along with a flight of other Wood Family Vineyards wines.

To make the evening even more memorable, Brandon, Cheesemonger and Owner/Founder of The Cheese Parlor, will be hand-selecting four gourmet cheeses to perfectly complement four Wood Family wines—including our newest release, Against The Grain. Here are the pairings guests will be able to enjoy:

2022 GSM + San Joaquin Gold – A California original from Fiscalini Farmstead, this semi-hard cow’s milk cheese is aged for over a year. It has a smooth, firm texture with nutty, buttery flavors and a touch of sweetness.

2022 Merlot + Lamb Chopper – A sheep’s milk cheese from the Netherlands (made for Cypress Grove in California). It’s pale, creamy, and supple, with a mild, buttery taste and a hint of tang—smooth and approachable.

2023 Petit Verdot + Seahive – An artisan cow’s milk cheese from Utah’s Beehive Cheese Company. Rubbed with local wildflower honey and sea salt, it has a creamy, full-bodied texture with a balance of sweet and savory notes.

2023 "Against the Grain" + Karst – A cave-aged cheese from Vermont Creamery. It’s a cow’s milk cheese, with a natural rind and a firm yet creamy body. Flavors are complex and savory, with nutty, caramel, and slightly tangy undertones.

The release party will take place on Sunday, October 12, with two sessions available to accommodate all our guests. The first session will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, and the second session will run from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

Tickets are just $10 for Wine Club Members and their guests, and $30 for non-club guests. Even better, you’ll receive a $10 credit toward every bottle purchased, up to the total value of your ticket; ensuring you receive the best value while enjoying this special experience.
