About the event

Canals 200 at Herkimer Home

Join us on October 11th from 4-7pm for a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal at Herkimer Home!

We’ll greet the Seneca Chief at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, and then guide a two mile lantern-lit hike to Herkimer Home to kick off the event. Free shuttles will also run from 3:30-6:30pm.

Onsite you’ll find a beer garden, pumpkin bowling, wagon rides to the Mohawk River, and more! Historic programming will include 18th century toys and games, trade and transportation, militia, and brewing. And, of course, you can’t miss General Herkimer’s mansion in candlelight.
