The NorthEast Squeeze-In is a gathering of free-reed players seeking a relaxing retreat from daily life. It’s not a music festival. or formal instructional weekend, though there are lots of workshops you can choose to attend. While there are no paid performers or teachers there are plenty of opportunities to learn new tunes, improve your skills, share what you know, and hang with some really great players and fun people.
We will have exclusive use of Wisdom House for the entirety of the weekend. Everything is in two adjacent buildings: the Main Building and the Farmhouse. Both contain bedrooms and meeting rooms as well as several porches. There is a large auditorium suitable for the concert and contra dance in the main building. There is also a large barn.
Wisdom House is a retreat center for adults, not a summer camp. Every room contains real beds with hotel-type mattresses. Bed linens and towels are provided at no additional cost.
There are many heated, well-ventilated indoor spaces for workshops and jamming that offer excellent sound separation and comfortable seating. Those who attended last year in the torrential downpours and flooding were extremely appreciative of the indoor accommodations!
Responsible consumption of your own alcohol is permitted.
There are gardens and other outdoor spaces in their well-kept grounds. Topsmead State Forest is within walking distance and offers many natural trails. (Admission is free to Topsmead.)
