Feature Poet TRACEY O’CALLAGHAN is an Adelaide based writer, poet and spoken word performer who has performed both competitively and as feature poet around South Australia and nationally.
She was in the SA State Poetry Slam in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, the National Slam Finals in Sydney 2021 and 2022.
Tracey's work has been widely published across national and international news platforms. Her book "Brains Balls & Banter" has been well received and followed up with her 1st solo SOLD OUT Adelaide Fringe Show in 2025.
Tracey is unapologetic about who she is and how she got this far, her writing is a roller coaster ride that takes you on a journey of the highs and the lows.
She is a true story teller, a talented word weaver who writes about family, parenting, humour, trauma, history, nature, healing, grief, domestic violence, surviving, love and loss.
Her poetry is based on well researched fact and personal truth. Gut wrenching, raw and brutal at times. Then her words gently touch each side of your face and melt your heart. Emotional, gutsy and sincere, Tracey writes from a heart that’s been shattered and rebuilt. She is gifted with a quick, sassy, smart mouth and a brain that rarely switches off.
Come be inspired by her workshop to put pen to paper and
thrilled by a performance by a professional performing poet.
There will also be an OPEN MIC
Bring your own or favourite poems to present to the public. You can pontificate, postulate, provoke, poke and parade poetry.
Vocable Poetry provides a protective platform for poets to proudly perform poems.
