How do we create a sense of shelter that goes beyond walls?
How do we restore dignity, possibility, and hope when everything feels impossible?
Join us for a conversation with Alynn Sampson, Executive Director of Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach, as part of our fall series on “Shelter and Belonging.” Matt Talbot is a vital presence in Lincoln, providing more than 100,000 meals a year—but food is only the beginning.
Rooted in values of compassion, inclusion, empowerment, and dignity, Matt Talbot helps people experiencing hunger and homelessness find bold hope in the face of hardship. Together with a team of staff and volunteers, they work to relieve hunger, overcome homelessness, address addiction, and provide advocacy and outreach in our community.
This conversation will explore:
What faith leaders should know about the reality of homelessness and hunger in Lincoln
What clients and staff wish others understood
What gaps remain in our community response—and how we can do better, together
Join us as we listen, learn, and reflect on how faith communities can be part of creating shelter and belonging in real and lasting ways.
