About the event

Hindu Myth To Mat : Kali from Wrath to Wisdom
🔥 “From Wrath to Wisdom: A Yoga Journey Through the Transformation of Goddess Kali”

Hindu mythology holds deep rivers of symbolism and emotion, and among the most powerful stories is that of Goddess Kali—a fierce embodiment of destruction, chaos, and ultimately, transformation. This workshop is an invitation to explore the raw and radiant aspects of ourselves, to hold space for our inner rage, power, compassion, and rebirth. Through myth, movement, meditation, and reflection, we’ll walk with Kali from fury to freedom. This is the hindu myth that got me hooked - totally enamoured by the transformative ability of the divine feminine that celebrates the fire and strength when needed, rather than
Workshop Intro
Kali, the goddess with wild hair, a garland of skulls, and blood-soaked tongue, is often misunderstood. She represents time, transformation, death, and fierce compassion. In her myth, she is born in a moment of desperation—to destroy the demon Raktabija who multiplies with every drop of blood spilled. But her rage becomes uncontrollable—threatening even the gods—until Shiva lays himself at her feet, and she awakens to awareness.
This is not just her story—it is ours too. It speaks to the wild emotional storms within us, the power of our shadow selves, and the sacred pause that leads to awakening.

Workshop Themes:
🌑 The Sacred Shadow – how darkness and destruction are part of growth
🔥 Emotional Alchemy – anger, fear, and grief as catalysts for transformation
🌺 Awareness as Awakening – finding stillness amidst chaos
💀 Death & Rebirth – letting go to reclaim your power

What to Expect
🔱 Opening Circle: Myth & Meaning (20 min)
A storytelling dive into the myth of Kali—her origin, her unstoppable power, and the moment of transformation. We'll discuss the symbolic meaning behind the story and how it relates to our own lives.
Introduction to Kali as a goddess archetype
Exploration of Raktabija as the “multiplying problem” – thoughts, patterns, trauma
Shiva's surrender – the wisdom of stillness
We'll touch on how these elements can mirror inner battles we all face—and how we might move through them.
📓 Journaling: Shadow + Power Reflection (15 min)
Prompted journaling session to reflect on:
What emotion or pattern within me feels uncontrollable right now?
What might my “Raktabija” be?
Where do I see fierce compassion in my life?
This journaling serves as an intention-setting and mirror into your inner world, preparing you for the embodied practice.
🧘 Yoga Flow: From Fury to Stillness (60 min)
A powerful, dynamic vinyasa flow that mirrors Kali’s transformation. We’ll journey through:
Ignition (Kali's Rage)
Strong, fiery breathwork (Kapalabhati)
Grounded standing poses (Goddess, Warrior II, Skandasana)
Kriyas + shaking to release tension
The Spiral (Loss of Control)
Fluid transitions, challenging balances, and playful movement
