Step into an evening of history, mystery, and the macabre as the legacy of Edgar Allan Poe comes alive at the historic Hearthside House.
Local expert Levi Lionel Leland—author of the soon-to-be-released book on Poe from Simon & Schuster—will guide guests through Poe’s haunting world. Discover his passion for the legendary writer with an exhibit of rare artifacts and documents from Poe’s era, displayed inside the 1810 stone mansion that echoes the period of Poe’s birth.
Learn about Poe’s connections to Providence, including his courtship of Sarah Whitman—who shares a family tie with Leland himself. The evening continues with a book reception and light refreshments, where guests will receive a complimentary signed copy of Leland’s new book.
