May Transport Orientation

Saco River Wildlife Center invites community members to join us on May 10th at 1 PM for a wildlife transportation volunteer orientation! At this training, you’ll learn everything you need to know to transport wildlife to a rehab center.

Our TOP priority right now is recruiting volunteers with daytime availability, though we gladly welcome volunteers for wildlife transport at any time of day or night, with a particular need for transporters from all areas of Southern Maine.

We look forward to seeing new faces in our up coming orientation event. This event IS open to the public and we encourage you to sign up with friends and family. Let us know if you can make it by simply responding to the event!

*** Please note: transport volunteers MUST be over the age of 18, AND have a valid driver's license. ***

More about the volunteer role: This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to get involved but might not be able to commit to weekly volunteering at our center. It's also great for our current volunteers who want additional training! This is YOUR chance to become a part of the reason we save lives in one of the very first steps of their rescue: transportation! Without our transporters, many of our wildlife patients would have suffered and not be able to live a full life! Saco River Wildlife center’s transport team, brings in wildlife from communities across Southern Maine to our center in Limington and frequently work with other rehabbers and centers.
