Lightning Ridge Central School’s Annual Swimming Carnival (Primary & Secondary) will be held on Friday 13th of February 2026, at the Lightning Ridge Olympic Pool.
This is a combined carnival with Primary and Secondary students competing at the same carnival but in their respective age groups. Primary and Secondary will not compete against each other, if they are in the same age groups i.e Primary 12 year olds do not compete with/against Secondary 12 year olds.
All students, turning 8 years old this year and above, will be at the pool as the school will be closed to these students. If you have a child who is 4, 5, 6, or 7 years of age, they will come to school as usual.
The first event will begin at 9:10am. All students should come straight to the pool. If students walk or are dropped off, they will be coming to and from the pool. All students who catch the bus to school will be dropped off and collected from the pool by bus.
If your child is a non-swimmer, there will be activities for them at the carnival.
Cost: Nil. The school will be subsidising the cost of pool entry on the day for all participating students.
