meth. is a 5 piece experimental metal band from Chicago, IL. Since the bands expansion from solo-project to full band in 2018, meth. has established themselves as one of the most intense bands on the scene. A live sound that looks to bludgeon all who bear witness, meth is a band that combines harsh wall-of-sound instrumentals with visceral and punishing vocals to create an anxiety driven atmosphere for the listener.
Blending experimental metal, noise rock, and hardcore, meth. delivers a swirling, dark mass of music that tackles deeply personal themes like religious trauma, addiction, and mental health. Their album "Shame" pulls no punches and hits like a sledgehammer. Expect thunderous, repetitive riffs and hypnotic, heavy mantras that are raw and confrontational. An intense show is guaranteed.

The band offers a mix of hardcore, noise-rock and black-metal whose influences range from Portrayal of Guilt to Deafheaven via Deftones and Birds in Row.
In 2022, Down to Dust did a mini tour with Anna Sage (Fr), opened for Portrayal of Guilt in Rotterdam and for Rolo Tomassi in Mainz.
The latest EP "No Room For Your Kind" produced by Tim de Gieter (Amenra, The K, Every Stranger Looks Like You), was released in physical version in 2022 on the Silenceless label.
