Let the wonder that shall be Record Store Day (RSD) 2026 begin! This will be our 04th RSD event and we thank you all for your continued support.

If this happens to be your first ever RSD please permit us to explain a few of the ground rules:
Once a year in April some independent ‘bricks and mortar’ record shops offer their customers Record Store Day. RSD releases are only initially available in-store. RSD is about the occasion and visiting the independent record shop is part of the enjoyment.
What is all the fuss about?
RSD sees otherwise completely unavailable records, in very limited quantities, made available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. All participating shops have to sign up to a strict code of conduct in order to participate, of which the ‘first come, first served’ is perhaps the most important. Shops are not allowed to reserve, so please do not ask as a refusal can sometimes offend. Customers are only permitted to purchase 1 copy of each item, but there is no limit on the number of different items you can purchase.
The early bird gets the worm, so to speak, so our advice is to check with us in advance if we will be ordering your favourite(s) and get up early on the Saturday of the event itself. Our doors are not allowed to open any earlier than 08:00am on the day but you can queue from any time you care to. With regard how early you need to be in the queue? Well, our guess is as good as yours so all we can advise is as early as possible.
We are not able to confirm how many copies of a particular item we will have. This is because many items experience what is called ‘cut-backs.’ Please allow us to explain with an example: let us assume there are only 500 items in total of a particular item but the demand for that same item is 1,000. All shops are likely to have the quantity they requested cut in half. If the demand happens to be 2,000 then shops should expect to receive only a quarter of their order. In simple terms, shops submit a “wish list” rather than an order. In other words, no RSD shop can guarantee they will receive a certain number (or, indeed, any at all, in some cases) of a particular item but knowing what is wanted helps us manage demand.
We very much welcome our own customer “wish lists” – if you take the time to speak with us in person in advance of the event it gives us the very best chance of understanding your needs and meeting them. We can answer any questions that you may have and increase the Stylus Records “wish list” respectively for the items you most want to obtain.
There are approximately 550 different items in the 2026 RSD event – please do not assume every shop will order every item as this is numerically impossible. However, if we know you want it, we will definitely try to order it. This is why advance contact with us at Stylus Records can be so important.
Q: Can I buy RSD items on-line?
A: No; not before 8PM on Monday 20th April, by which time it is very likely many items will have sold out.
We are here to help. Please remember RSD is about visiting your local independent record shop. We are very friendly so please speak to us.
Please consider following Stylus Records on your preferred social media platforms where we shall publish updates and images of RSD items. We also recommend subscribing to the official RSD website. www.recordstoreday.co.uk
If you are registered disabled please also contact us in advance to discuss how we can best accommodate you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and understand the amazing annual event that is Record Store Day. Good luck!
Best wishes,
Tim, Olly and the whole Team at Stylus Records Limited.

Minster Pool Walk, Lichfield, WS13 6QT
Visiting us by car and not sure how long you will need to stay?
Stylus Records recommend the ticketless long stay multi-storey car park at The Friary, Lichfield WS13 6QE. This is because it is much more affordable than the Lichfield short stay car parks and you only pay upon departure.
Also check out other Meetups in Lichfield.
