Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as "Drunken Master".
To kick off 2026 we have a return visit from NYC selector Grace Of Spades, plus all the way from Glasgow, Shaun Galbraith, who runs the excellent Vocal Or Version night at the Rum Shack. Expect 45s to make you move from both guests!
GRACE OF SPADES cut her teeth early on working with the Deadly Dragon crew and later Daptone Records, and has gone on to play for reggae legends such as Ken Boothe, Sister Nancy, and Johnny Osborne. A fixture in New York City’s reggae community, Grace of Spades hosted “Watch This Sound” on BBOX Radio for three years and has been featured on other stations like East Village Radio, The Lot, WNYU and more. Today, she holds multiple residencies, hosts beloved underground parties and is a regular guest at local institutions like Coney Island Reggae On The Boardwalk. This is the second time she's played the General Echo Reggae Disco and we can't wait to have her back!
SHAUN GALBRAITH runs the long-running Vocal Or Version reggae dance at the Rum Shack, a Caribbean restaurant and bar on the southside of Glasgow, where he is the resident selector and also hosted the cream of UK reggae revive talent. He also ventures out of Scotland occasionally to play events such as Reggae Cookout, and recently appeared at the Madness' House Of Fun weekender at Butlin's in Minehead. Expect the finest in ska, rocksteady, roots, dub and more.
Come and listen to some of the greatest music ever made in a beautiful old school social club.
