Kumihimo Workshop with Maggie Jones £20 plus £7 payable to tutor for materials

Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braiding fine threads and cords together, resulting in aesthetically pleasing and thicker braids. In this workshop, we will be working with various thread thicknesses to create a simple braid and make a keyring/bag charm/zipper pull. We will then move on to a more elaborate braid for either a necklace or bracelet. The trio of makes will be completed with a beaded bookmark.
Some manual dexterity will be needed, but the craft isn't complicated. Participants will need to purchase a foam disc, which can be purchased easily online. The best-known brand is 'Beadsmith'. You can opt for a 6" or 4" diameter, there's no difference in use. The cost of the disc is approximately £5. Please note that there will be £7 payable on the day to the tutor for materials for all three projects.
