About the event

Kentucky Storm Resilience: Documentaries & Discussion
Join us for a collaborative event valorizing Kentucky's storm resilience through powerful documentaries and engaging discussions.

About this Event

Weather-related catastrophes have all too often severely impacted communities and hampered economic growth in the commonwealth. Kentucky NSF EPSCoR’s CLIMBS project will hold a screening of two documentaries. After the documentaries, there will be a panel discussion with a Q&A session about flooding resilience, featuring professionals across disciplines. This event will provide an avenue for further collaboration and potential partnerships on this topic across institutions, organizations, and businesses.

All Is Not Lost, by the non-profit, Letcher County-based media group Appalshop, underscores the unprecedented nature of the 2022 Eastern Kentucky flood and through in-depth community interviews, and showcases Letcher County's efforts to recover and rebuild. CLIMBS - Kentucky Climate Resilience - The Documentary highlights how CLIMBS, the collaborative research project from KY NSF EPSCoR, is seeking to build climate resilience through interdisciplinary research across the commonwealth.

These films will hopefully spark collaboration — spotlighting CLIMBS' mission while uniting Kentucky’s storm resilience builders across disciplines. Truly, an event to valorize Kentucky's resilience network. Please join us!
