Antagonist Productions presents – I Come From V: A series of plays from The Voices Inside
Antagonist Productions proudly announces the fifth installment of its groundbreaking series I Come From, running September 18–21 and 25–28, 2025. This powerful theatrical event, I Come From V, continues the company’s commitment to community-driven storytelling by centering the voices of incarcerated writers in Kentucky.
“Developed through a long-standing collaboration with The Voices Inside and Antagonist Productions’ Juvenile Creative Writing Program, I Come From V is a collection of original 10-minute plays and spoken word, all penned by individuals currently incarcerated in Kentucky’s prison system and juvenile detention centers.” These deeply personal works are brought to life onstage by a cast of local performers, giving voice to stories that are too often silenced.
“I Come From is about listening without judgment. These stories come from places of pain, resilience, humor and hope—and when we share them onstage, we’re creating a space for healing, both for the writers and for the audience.” — Ian Scott, Antagonist Productions
The production is generously sponsored by the Kentucky Bar Foundation and Partners for Youth, whose support helps keep performances accessible to the public and amplifies the educational and restorative potential of the arts. The Voices Inside program is made possible in part by support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council, the Nancy Friday Foundation and individual donations.
Performances will be held at Antagonist Productions, 2520 Regency Rd., Suite 140, Lex, KY.
