Dangers of the Transco Pipeline - Community Meeting

Did you know that Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company is proposing to build a high-pressure methane gas pipeline through Wallburg, Midway and other areas of Davidson County?

The 55-mile Transco pipeline, called the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project, is proposed in Virginia and North Carolina, including 10 miles in Davidson County. The project would also include a large expansion of the existing Transco compressor station on Becky Hill Road, quadrupling its capacity.

The SSEP would pose a variety of safety, health and economic risks. The proposed route is dangerously close to residences, schools, churches, and farms, putting the community at risk in the case of an accident.

Gas from the SSEP would not go to the local community, but your electric bill could increase to pay for project construction.
