The skies above Lewistown will light up once again with the return of the Goose Day Drone Light Show, set for 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at Lewistown Rec Park. Now in its third year, the show continues to grow as a signature event of the Juniata River Valley’s Goose Day celebration—featuring 300 drones choreographed into dazzling, goose-themed formations and storytelling moments that celebrate the region’s quirkiest and most beloved holiday.
This year’s show will debut brand-new imagery highlighting popular Goose Day traditions, including the Goose Day 5K, the whimsical “A Goosemas Story” photo shoot inspired by the classic holiday movie A Christmas Story, blackberry wine-making, and other nods to the area’s festive fall flavors and family fun.
“We’re bringing back all the magic of last year’s show but adding more surprises that really showcase what makes Goose Day special,” said Jenny Landis, executive director of the Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau. “We’re using this show to spotlight the creativity and charm of Goose Day in a way that’s never been seen before—literally!”
The Goose Day Drone Light Show will follow Lucky Friday, a downtown Lewistown event filled with food vendors, family-friendly entertainment, live music, and plenty of opportunities to soak in the small-town excitement leading up to the main event.
This free, one-of-a-kind aerial experience is the perfect way to kick off a weekend of Goose Day festivities. Bring a blanket, find your spot at Rec Park, and look to the skies as Goose Day lights up the night in spectacular style.
