Arts and Sciences workshop, A casual event, Garb isn’t required.
We’re going to be in a decent sized community room.
We have a full kitchen available to us, bathrooms and the site is handicap accessible!
We will have coffee and tea available as well as muffins and fresh baked croissants with jam and butter.
We’re going to do a potluck Saturday during the event for lunch. Looking for main dishes and some sides.
Kathy is going to make Pumpkin soup (V)
I’m going to make Chili with Beef, Bacon and Beans & some cornbread muffins.
Please let us know what you want to bring.
We will have 4 classes available
I have found a few people to teach a few classes!
We will do one or two classes in the morning and one or two in the afternoon.
We have for classes:
Morning class session - Intro to drop spinning by Lady Mary Of Blackthorn - 8 kits will be available for this class, a $3 donation to cover supplies is appreciated.
Morning class session - 14th century accessory’s by Taylor Wright, a $5 class fee to cover materials. I will be teaching a veil beading. It is an easy way to spruce up an outfit and that isn't too expensive
If you have a veil you would like bead, bring it. If not, I will bring scrap fabric to practice on.
We will also touch on how to properly wear a veil and different styles of veils.
Please let me know if you are intrested so I can bring the right amount of supplies.
Afternoon- Melissa Hannon (Zosia) has agreed to teach a beginner’s Scribal class and have open scribal time. Looking for a headcount for Beginner Scribal. If you are planning on attending, please let me know(PM her). This is the "so you wanna be a scribe" 101 class.
Afternoon- Basic garb making class: T-Tunics and dresses by Lady Cacht (Caroline Kearney) and Kathy Gradl. We are suggesting bringing an old or inexpensive T-shirt to work off of, that fits you.
Please PM us if you want to bring any fabric for making your pattern or tunic.
Lance - I am not teaching a class exactly, but I do plan to work on leather there and will happily teach, explain, compare techniques etc. I also plan to bring some of my prefab stamp collection that I never use looking to re-home them. Nothing amazing but if prefabricated stamps are your thing they will be up for grabs.
