The Listening Room is a collaboration between CommUnity Zone and the Local Music Collective to create a relaxed listening atmosphere featuring artists of all genres. Admission is $10 (free for children 12 and under!) and doors open at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments are provided.
Meet Our September Artists!
Davey O
It's no surprise that Buffalo, NY born and bred songwriter Davey O. He has been described by Buffalo News critic Jeff Miers as having, "a journalist’s eye for detail and poet’s ear for the well-turned observation." Embarking on a twenty year journey that has resulted in a collection of justly-earned, highly introspective songs, Davey crafts pure Americana that is not of the social and political consciousness, but drawn from the deep well of experience and human emotion - no hackneyed story lines, no insincere polish, just an unflinching poet's look at life. The characters woven seamlessly into stories of which the song itself becomes the soundtrack for the movie playing inside the listener's head.
Sean Farley
Sean has been professionally touring around the northeast and southwest for over 20 years now, and will likely continue until his final days. He has played with various artists and bands, but these days he mainly focus on his solo looping shows. He has a uniquely organic “one man band” approach to blues, soul, and Americana music stylings. At his shows you’ll hear him create full sounding songs with deep grooves, etherical textures, and harmonies. Looping allows him to get so many musical ideas from his head and heart to the audience. It allows him to play percussion, rhythm, and lead all at once. Sean is also a certified Luthier who repairs, restores, modifies, and builds high-end instruments from scratch out of his shop, Guitarley's Custom Guitar & Repair, in Williamsport.
