Join local artist Kim Brown for a two-hour workshop where you will learn how to decoupage a shell using your choice of design from a paper napkin*. Decoupage is the art of gluing a paper design to a surface to create the impression of something that was painted on.
In this workshop, you will decoupage a 4” scallop shell, edge it with gold leaf paint, and add a string of wooden beads and a tassel. The finished product can be used as part of decor on a shelf or centerpiece, and it makes a great gift as well.
All supplies and materials will be provided. All you need to bring is your interest and a relatively steady hand…no artistic talent is required . You may wish to bring an N95-type mask for the gold leaf painting part of the process.
Kim Brown is a Lewes-based artist who is best known for her work creating Sailor’s Valentines, which are intricate mosaics made from tiny seashells. She also engages in other forms of shell and sea glass art and loves to paint, as well.
*Please note that you will not necessarily be making the design shown here on the sample shell. A variety of paper napkins will be available for you to choose from (or you are welcome to bring your own if there is a design you really like). Fall and holiday designs will be available.

· Any special needs seating or other arrangements must be requested in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Cancellation policy: You will receive a credit toward another class by artist Kim Brown, of Ocean Echoes Studio, if she is notified of cancellation at least one week prior to class date, No Shows will not be credited or refunded!
