Solar Powered Painting

Join Carol Flueckiger, Professor of Art at Texas Tech University for a Cyanotype workshop at the Wallace Theater that merges compositional strategies with conversations about upcycling and renewable energy. Cyanotype, a light sensitive chemical uses sunlight for exposure of bicycle parts on thrift store shirts by creating a blue sunburn in the negative spaces around the bicycle. Let’s connect to solar energy, wind energy and upcycling through artistic bicycle shirts.

Cost is $15 | Ages 6+ (minors ages 6-10 must be accompanied by their adult guardian taking the class)

-The class will travel to B&B Laundromat
-All art supplies and instruction are included

Workshop is weather dependent. If it gets rained out the class will shift course and do a Color Dripping Workshop.
