To mark the 41st anniversary of 14-year-old Leigh schoolgirl Lisa Hession, myself and Andrea are holding a candle lit vigil. Like we did last year to remember the 40th anniversary.
Some people who knew and was friends with Lisa, could not make it last year due to illnesses, so me and Andrea were asked if this year we could be another vigil, which I have spoken to Jo Platt to organise, and Jo also attended last year.
The people of Leigh town and other surrounding areas are welcome to join to remember Lisa Hession and her Mother Christine Hession (who sadly passed away in 2016 without getting justice or answer for who killed her only child).
We are meeting on Monday 8th December 2025 on West Bridgewater Street (outside Christ Church Pennington school) at 7pm.

We are starting the walk at 7-15pm.
We are walking the route from West Bridgewater Street, then we will go on to St Helens Road, following the walk that Lisa should have walked on the night. St Helens Road, Buck Street, Poplar Street, Oak Street, Newlands Road, then onto Bonneywell Road.
Me and Andrea are going to lead the walk.
We will continue to walk down Bonneywell Road, and onto Pennington Road and we will walk down Rugby Road on the right-hand side (where the odd numbered houses are), so the people of the street can remember as it affected a lot of people on that street, and that estate. We WILL NOT be walking down Rugby Road backs at any point only on the street of Rugby Road.
Then we will go back to Newlands Road and have a minute silence.
Also, we will be playing three songs on the walk which Lisa’s friends suggested and one of them is a David Bowie song.
Residents of Buck Street, Poplar Street, Oak Street, Newlands Road, Bonneywell Road, Rugby Road, Pennington Street (near Rugby Road part) are welcome to hold a candle or tea light in the gardens as we walk past, if you do not want to participate in the walk.
Let’s light the path for Lisa that should have led her home to safety.
