This is a 2 day course, designed to start you off coaching in paddle sport.
Whether you're new to coaching or an experienced paddler from any discipline, this course is designed to support your development.
Through a blend of practical activities and guided reflection, you'll explore effective ways to support learning and growth in your paddlers. You'll also begin shaping your own coaching development plan, helping you apply what you've learned beyond the course.
What You'll Learn:
Throughout the course, you'll dive into topics such as:
Understanding the learning journey of your paddlers
Adapting your coaching to meet diverse learner needs
Structuring practice sessions to maximise progress on the water
With support from experienced tutors, you'll also reflect on:
Your role and identity as a coach
How to use reflective practice to guide your personal development
As part of the coaching pathway, this course sets you up with the theory you need to know to coach in paddle sport. You will then need to complete the appropriate discipline specific module to the type of craft and type of water you paddle on. You can look through the different types of coach courses here. Please also be aware, upon completing the 2 day Core Coach Training, and the 2 day Discipline Specific Training, you will not yet gain the full qualification. These are both only training courses, once you have finished the training courses, you will then take what you have learned and gain experience practicing your coaching skills. Once you have gone through that consolodation period you will then need to book your assessment. Assessments are usually 1 day
