That solution became the writing board.
Join us for our 19th-Century Writing Board Workshop, inspired by a simple, quietly ingenious tool once used wherever life happened to pause. Writing boards made it possible to jot a note, write a letter, or steady a page without waiting for the “right” place to sit down. Practical, portable, and deeply human.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own vintage-inspired writing board using antique-style papers and stamps. It’s meant to be used—not tucked away—kept near your journal, beside your pen, or wherever thoughts tend to show up unannounced.
The afternoon is relaxed and unhurried, with room for conversation, curiosity, and the pleasure of making something useful with care. No prior experience needed—just an interest in old tools, slow moments, and the quiet satisfaction of putting something well made into your hands.

To register: You may register during regular business hours—either in person at the shop or by phone at (513) 836-3060—up until the close of business the day before the workshop to hold your spot. To allow us to properly prepare materials, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.
Please note: this workshop has a different feel than our decoupage-style classes. Writing boards are crafted in a different manner than decoupage and are not made with multiple papers. If decoupage is more your style, stay tuned—another decoupage class is coming soon.
