Pull up to the library to get ready for kindergarten! Each session of Destination Kindergarten will focus on a new topic from the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards to help your littles gain some knowledge and real-life experience in a group class setting. This monthly series will build skills and confidence in a fun and engaging way so kids (and parents) will be ready when their first school year begins.

Letās build focus and patience! This month, little learners will explore sorting games and imaginative play to practice persistence, listening skills, and working together.
š¬ September - Science & Technology
Spark curiosity with hands-on science fun! Kids will experiment with marshmallow structures and sensory exploration while learning to ask questions and describe the world around them.
āļø October - Language & Early Literacy
Letters come to life this month! Children will trace letters, explore writing tools, and dive into storytelling with props that build early reading and communication skills.
šØ November - Creative Arts
Music, movement, and make-believe take center stage! From costume play to collage creation, kids will build motor skills and express themselves through art and imagination.

Count on fun! Weāll explore early math skills with matching games, number recognition, and playful pattern buildingāgreat for building problem-solving skills and engaging curious minds.

Letās feel good inside and out! This month focuses on social-emotional skills, healthy habits, and self-expression through fun games and self-portrait art.

Who helps in our community? Kids will meet everyday heroes through matching games and roleplay at a pretend store while learning about money and their world.
𤸠March - Physical Education
Letās get moving! Weāll practice gross and fine motor skills through playful exercises and outdoor activities (weather permitting!) that build strength and coordination.
š April - Review & Closing
Weāre ready for kindergarten! Celebrate a year of growth with a special storytime, review activities, and a literacy giveaway to send your child off with confidence.
