As we get older, we don’t see our mates half as much as we should. For over 40 years, this pub has been the heart and soul of a cracking community. Landlords have come and gone, but The Hod Carrier has always been the place.
If I had a quid for every time someone said, “I used to work behind that bar,” I’d be retired by now. The sad part is, it’s usually a loss that gets everyone back through the door — when we say goodbye to someone who was a proper part of The Hod Carrier furniture.
So let’s not wait for that.
On 7th March, at the request of Andy Williams’ family, we’re doing things properly — a full-blown reunion.
From 7pm, we’re going Back in the Day.
Music will be on, stories will get better with every pint, and the rules will be… flexible.
Old bar staff, landlords, locals, friends, family — if you’ve ever propped this bar up, you’re invited.
Let’s reconnect, have a laugh, remember the good times, and make a few new stories we probably won’t admit to next week.
