Take advantage of a no school day by experiencing the wonders of the universe with The Prairie Planetarium, a portable, inflatable planetarium that brings the night sky indoors! Step inside the dome and be surrounded by a stunning projection of stars, planets, and celestial objects. Staff from Wild Compass Environmental Education will lead you on a journey through different stars and planets.
This program will take place at the Le Sueur Community Center Gym. There are three public 45-minute programs starting promptly at 2PM, 3PM, and 4PM.

Session Information:
*2PM: WHAT'S UP - There is a lot going on in the night sky. Students will join an alien guide to learn about the Moon, stars, and planets and how they are all different from each other. Spot some constellations and hear the stories that go with them.
*3PM: MOVING RIGHT ALONG - Nothing stays in one place in space and that includes our planet, Earth! Students will learn how Earth is constantly spinning and revolving around the Sun, how this changes life on Earth through the year, how it changes our view of the stars through the year, and what constellations are currently visible.
*4PM: STELLAR LUNAR- The Moon is our constant companion in space. Where did it come from, what are the phases of the Moon, and what is a lunar eclipse? Plus, see some seasonal constellations.
Space is limited inside the planetarium and you must be in 3rd grade or older to enter alone. Children younger than 3rd grade must have a parent present.
