🏁 Amazing CERT Race 2025: Fun, Fast, and Ready for Anything
Layton is getting ready for something unforgettable—and you’re invited.
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, families, civic leaders, first responders, and residents of the Layton Holmes Creek Stake/District will gather at Chapel Park (152 Chapel St, Layton) for the Amazing CERT Race—a high-energy, hands-on emergency preparedness event inspired by The Amazing Race.
This dynamic activity turns emergency training into an exciting, team-based challenge that builds real-world skills and strengthens community bonds.
🔥 What to Expect
Beginning at 11:30 AM, neighborhood teams will compete in a series of 10 interactive emergency response stations, each designed to simulate real disaster scenarios.
Team colors will be assigned, and everyone is welcome to attend and support. Contact your area emergency prep rep to sign up.
Participants will learn and practice:
Light search and rescue
Fire suppression
Basic triage and first aid
Emergency communication using radios

All stations will be judged by CERT-certified volunteers and local first responders, providing guidance, safety oversight, and real-time feedback.

😂 Laugh First, Then Prepare
We’re adding humor to help people remember what not to do in an emergency:
“Plan A: scream and run!”
“I packed glitter. We’ll survive fabulously.”
“Flashlight? I’ll just use hope.”
“Survey says… you’re not ready!”
“Wheel of Misfortune: You landed on unprepared!”
And here are a few serious reminders of why preparedness matters:
✅ “Prep now. Panic never.”
✅ “Hope is not a supply.”
✅ “Disasters aren’t funny. Being unprepared is.”
✅ “You don’t rise to the occasion—you fall to your level of preparation.”
