Join us in our 12th Walk4Water to provide clean water wells and purification systems in countries where women and children are walking an average of 4 MILES for drinking and cooking water every day.
Our goal this year is $7,500.
Each well costs approximately $7,500.
In our previous 11 years, over $246,000.00 has been raised right here in Lawrence County.
Our goal, is to raise money for drilling wells in developing countries, to repair previously drilled wells, and to support our various programs such as sustainable agriculture and disaster relief.

How Does It Work?

First, register to walk at the Lawrence County event online. You may register as an individual or create a team and invite your friends to join you! You may give your donation online or bring with you to the event.
Share with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Let people know that even the smallest gift can make an impact. A simple $5 donation can bring clean water to 3 people!
Finally, join with others in walking 4 miles in honor of those who have to walk 4 miles everyday. If you're up to a real challenge, try carrying a jerrican with 5 gallons of water while you walk. You will be surprised how difficult this is!
How far do you walk to get water? Four miles? One mile? Or is it just a few steps to the faucet?
Every day in developing countries, women and children walk an average of 4 miles to collect water for their family. Not only is this chore keeping the children from attending school, but the dirty water they are bringing home is also killing them at an alarming rate!
On average, a child dies every 26 seconds from water-related illnesses. More children die every day from dirty water than from malaria, aids, and measles COMBINED**.
This is why thousands of people around the country choose to Walk4Water.

The average distance to walk for water is four miles, if there is even any water to be found. This pattern is not sustainable and stunts the growth of families and individuals everywhere. This is why we Walk4Water.
Walk4Water is a fundraising program within Healing Hands International that helps support its Clean Water program. Starting in 2007, Walk4Water has hosted events in communities all over the nation at schools, churches, and organizations. The goal is to bring the life-saving gift of clean water to those who need it so desperately. Since 2001, we are grateful to share over 1,500 clean water wells have been drilled in over twenty countries. The impact is exponential — clean water leads to abundant life!
