The City of Lawrence, in partnership with the Lawrence Arts Center, invites the public to attend Here for Each Other: A Connection Fair and Community Film Screening on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Free State High School (Commons area). The Lawrence Connection Fair will take place for 30 minutes before and after the screening, providing a welcoming environment to explore local clubs, volunteer opportunities, and community organizations.
The evening will feature a screening of the documentary Join or Die, which highlights the importance of participation in clubs, organizations, and social networks in fostering individual well-being and strengthening communities. The film examines the consequences when engagement declines and the potential benefits when people become actively involved.
This event offers an opportunity for residents—whether new to Lawrence, returning to community life, or seeking to expand their social connections—to engage with neighbors, learn more about local resources, and explore avenues for meaningful involvement. Admission is free, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend.
