Crossroads Dance Indy Presents: “Quotable”

What if words could move you? Inspired by powerful quotes, Quotable is an evening of modern dance where words become movement and ideas take shape on the stage. Six original works transform language into motion, exploring tradition, love, beauty, perception, longing, and power. Each piece invites the audience into a distinct world, where gesture, rhythm, and emotion uncover what words alone cannot hold.

The performance moves from the weight of tradition by Katie Porras to the tenderness of grief by Elly Kauser. It celebrates the energy of self-expression through Clarice Nolan’s work and explores the quiet changes in how we see the world with choreography by Nicole Mikesell. It also looks at different perspectives through the lens of Sammi Kindler and follows the journey of First Ladies brought to life by Brittany Gaither. Quotable moves through emotions and ideas that are both familiar and deeply felt.

Together, these dances create a collection of stories that are both personal and universal. Quotable is an exploration of how words inspire movement and how movement, in turn,transcends the spoken word.
