Now entering its fifth decade, the Tasmanian Poetry Festival returns for four vibrant days celebrating the power of words and performance. From Friday 10 October, enjoy an exciting line-up of events showcasing a rich diversity of poetic voices, alongside musical performances to stir the senses.
The festivities begin with our official Festival Launch at Sporties Lounge Bar on Friday evening, where you can meet this year’s guest poets over drinks and nibbles. The evening continues with our Friday Feature Event, setting the tone for a jam-packed weekend.
The rest of the festival unfolds at the Queen Victoria Museum (2 Invermay Rd, Launceston), featuring performances, readings, and on Saturday evening, the much-loved Launceston Poetry Cup, held at St John Craft Beer's back room—a true highlight of the poetry calendar.
