Liz Overs
On Sunday 7th September we welcome songwriter, singer of traditional folk and folklore enthusiast, the wonderful Liz Overs.
Liz’s beautiful first solo album Nightjar ("A shimmering debut rich in folklore" The Observer) was made alongside the Sussex coast with Neill MacColl, Ben Nicholls, and David Tomlins.
Under a previous signing to Atlantic Records, she had a number one club hit in the US and have since written and sung for Chalk Horse Music and hosted a radio show covering the music, folklore and social history of Sussex.
In 2023, her unaccompanied version of The Birds in the Spring was the only song featured in Dylan Howitt’s award-winning documentary The Nettle Dress and she performed at key screenings in the UK.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:
PLEASE arrive by 6 ready for a 6.15 start
This is a Pass The Hat event. In other words - there isn't a ticket price, but we do expect a generous donation. We suggest a donation of £12 per person. Having said that, to avoid our events becoming elitist, our ethos has always been 'pay what you can afford'. Please bring cash on the night.
There will be delicious homemade food available to buy @£12.50 per person from Philippa on the night. Please bring card or cash. (Please make sure you give us food preferences for each guest IN ADVANCE), or you can bring your own snacks.

BRING YOUR OWN DRINK - THERE IS NO BAR! and PLEASE TAKE YOUR EMPTIES HOME.
It will really help us if you bring your own glasses, plates and cutlery so that nobody is having to wash up 30-60 settings when we're done! :-)
Our new venue is bigger - we’ll need more people to make the atmosphere cosy like the kitchen, so we’d love you to encourage your friends to come!
