About This Workshop: This workshop is designed for people who want to learn the basics of teaching with confidence and intention. Participants will explore the process of building clear, engaging, and purposeful lesson plans from the ground up. Through guided exercises, reflective discussion, and hands-on planning time, participants will gain a better idea of how to turn their big ideas into actionable classroom experiences. This workshop will support womxn writers by creating a collaborative environment where womxn can share ideas and take risks. It will encourage participants to draw from their own narratives and cultural knowledge when shaping their lesson, as well as address common challenges womxn creatives face (self- doubt, perfectionism, time constraints, etc) by offering practical strategies and peer support.

About the Phenomenal Womxn Festival: The Phenomenal Womxn Poetry Festival is a bold, empowering 3-day celebration of womxn and femme voices taking up space in Las Vegas. Featuring workshops, powerful panels, curated open mics, and the first-ever all-womxn regional poetry slam to hit the city. Poets across genres — page, stage, experimental, and everything in between — will gather in the heart of the Arts District, activating beloved local spaces like Third Street, Taverna Costera, Suite 150, Analog Dope, and That Chapel. We’ll close the weekend with a special headlining performance from powerhouse poet Yesika Salgado, followed by an unforgettable final-stage slam where one poet will claim $3,000 and the title of 2026 Phenomenal Womxn Champion.
