The end of February marks the beginning of spring planting season in the desert, and there is no one better to herald in this joyful moment than Master Gardener Gail Brandys. With considerable hands-on experience—and many lessons learned through trial and error in her own yard—Gail brings both knowledge and practicality to this engaging presentation.

Gail will share a PowerPoint presentation on the many benefits of growing native and desert-adapted plants, including how they support local ecosystems while thriving in our desert conditions. She will also discuss propagation tips for successfully starting native plants from seed.

As the lead for the native plant seed collection and distribution effort with the Las Vegas Master Gardener Program, Gail will have a wide variety of free native seeds available for attendees. Plus, attendees will be among the first to access and purchase Desert Love’s spring native plant inventory, making this one of the earliest opportunities to bring these plants home for the season.
