How can we better advocate around disability?
Come and enjoy an evening with disability experts as we discuss what true accessibility is from those with lived experiences navigating our current community landscape. At the second half of the event we will open the floor for mayor candidate, Kelsea Hector and at-large city council candidate, Julie Vandenboom to respond to our panelists on how they hope to make Lansing a more accessible place should they be elected.
We will then open the floor to the audience to ask questions directly to our panel, Hector or Vandenboom.
Fluttering Wheels will have some unopened medical supplies and smaller equipment for anyone who needs it, including: Cold therapy machines, unopened nebulizer & CPAP tubing , canes, underarm crutches, grabbers /reachers, unopened wound care, bandages, dressing aids, toilet wand, and small grab bars.
Accessibility details: The Fledge has a ramp and first floor bathroom with space for mobility devices and grab bars. We are still in search of a sign language translator for this event, but the event will be filled and posted online with subtitles or any one unable attend.
