Portrait Photography for Beginners

Beginner-friendly portrait photography class. Practice on each other or bring a partner/friend for Valentine's couples theme. Learn posing, natural light, speedlite techniques, managing cityscape backgrounds, and finding unique backdrops. 3-hour class walking outdoors.

Bring your camera and a lens in the 10-50mm range (or any lens comfortable for portraiture). Optional: speedlite (we'll walk a lot, so easy to carry). Encouraged: bring a significant other or friend for couples portraits. We'll cover portrait photography with and without speedlite, photographing in pairs, cityscape backgrounds, and unique backdrops along riverside, capitol, and historic downtown Lansing.
