Art Blakey lead the Jazz Messengers in a career spanning more than four decades, providing an important role in mentoring dozens of rising jazz stars and launching them into the public eye. The list of musicians that performed with the Messengers includes names like Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton, Geoff Keezer, Jackie McLean, Terence Blanchard, Kenny Dorham, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, and many, many more.
We are presenting an evening of the music of the Jazz Messengers, with pieces spanning the bands career, from 7-10pm. We hope you can join us.
