The Lansing Fire Department will kick off Fire Prevention Week 2025 with its popular annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 4, and the entire community is invited!
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., families are encouraged to stop by Fire Station 29, 19300 Burnham Ave., to meet Lansing’s firefighters, tour equipment, enjoy lunch, and learn valuable fire safety tips — all in a fun, family-friendly setting.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is: “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The focus will be on raising awareness about the safe use of rechargeable batteries found in everyday devices.
Open House festivities will include: Live fire and vehicle extrication demonstrations; touch-a-truck opportunities; face painting and a bouncy house; giveaways, raffles, and prizes; kids' obstacle course, free lunch and refreshments; and much more!
The event will also feature the announcement of winners from the elementary school coloring contest. Entries are due by October 1, and coloring pages are available online at VillageofLansing.org, here:
