We are thrilled to invite you to the 45th Annual MSU Black Alumni, Inc. Homecoming Celebration at Michigan State University! Our theme this year is…Honoring Our Legacy, Igniting Our Future

During the weekend, you can enjoy a vibrant mix of activities, including social gatherings, networking opportunities, and celebrations that highlight our legacy and shared MSUBA pride. Make new connections and reconnect with old friendships among fellow alumni, friends, and others eager to celebrate MSU. We encourage all to be on campus for Friday’s parade, Saturday’s tailgate, and of course, the football game as our MSU Spartans take on UCLA. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a memorable weekend!

In addition, MSUBA is asking all alumni and friends to participate in our community service drive, where we will collect travel-sized hygiene products to create care packages for the homeless community in Ingham County.

Thursday, October 9 • Annual Business Meeting (Virtual) Time TBD (will be communicated by National President Carleen Gardner)

Friday, October 10 • Friday Night Party and Scholarship Fundraiser (Attire: Spartan Chic/Casual) 8:00 pm -12:00 midnight

Saturday, October 11 • Tailgate (MSU Campus; IM East Field) • MSU Football (MSU vs UCLA in Spartan Stadium) 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (the flyer has a time error it will be rectified)

To assit with crowd control, safety of all attendees, and seamless entry and based on a reccomendation from membership we are re-implementing the advance registration pick up process. This will help with access. ALL ticket purchasers will need to pick up your tickets at the Doubletree Hotel for both the Friday Night Party and Saturday Tailgate. No wristbands/tickets for entry will be provided on-site.

During the Homecoming Townhall with membership (June 3, 2025) we discussed due to the attrition issues we have experienced as an organization based on those who booked in the MSUBA block canceling the day of or close to the actual weekend due to personal changes made, hotel policies changing, and the negotiated hotel rates of accommodations during MSU homecoming weekend we have moved away from booking a large block of rooms which require huge fiscal responsiblity due to limitless uncertainity. Nevertheless, MSUBA has negotiated a small block of rooms at the Doubletree by Hilton Lansing (first come first serve- no additional rooms will be added once gone). OUR NEGOTIATED ROOM RATE IS $289.00 per night.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS (the link is below)

1. Once you select the room type, complete the Hotel Booking Form.
2. For date adjustment needs, please change the Check-in and Check-out date box at the top of the site.
3. The booking form will ask for the guest's details and email address.
4. The secure payment option is the section of the booking form that holds your credit card details. Input your credit card information.
5. Once you have completed this step, click the “Make Reservation” button, and your reservation will be sent immediately to the Hotel.
6. Hotel policy requires that the full amount for a 2-night stay must be paid in advance and is non-refundable.

To make a room reservation by phone call 1-833-904-2206, and reservations can assist with securing rooms. It is important that you identify yourself as part of the MSUBA | Fall 2025 group and provide reservations under the code “MJK” to receive the discounted group rate. Please ensure your reservations are made before the cutoff date of 09/19/2025.
