Canopy Formation (CF), sometimes referred to as Canopy Relative Work (CRW), is a discipline within skydiving where we link canopies together to create formations or score points. It is a super exciting part of the sport that provides you will lots of transferable skills and helps you become more comfortable under canopy.
The aim of this course is to introduce you to CF and prepare you for your CF1. During this course you will be introduced to CF specific equipment, the canopy inputs required to fly relative to one another, additional emergencies you might encounter, and the skills required to achieve CF1.
Prerequisites
In order to take part in this course you must have the following:
- British Skydiving B Licence
- Minimum of 100 jumps with at least 5 in the past 2 months

On the day
- We will meet at 8am to start preparing equipment for the jump.
- We will discuss the jump plan and you will be tested on what you have learnt from the online training.
- We aim to complete 3 jumps. This is the minimum number of jumps it takes to achieve CF1. Like with other disciplines, this is just a guide and it may take more.
Courses are limited to a maximum of 2 students. If both students have a C Licence and a camera, they can film each other's jumps, if they want to.
Fees
The course cost £140. There is a £20 non-refundable deposit which also gives you access to the CF1 online training.
The remaining fee is paid directly to the coach.
CF equipment can be rented for £10 a jump or £30 per day.
Jump tickets are not included.
Weather
CF requires even stricter weather conditions. If it looks like the jumps will definitely not go ahead, your coach will contact you to reschedule.
